Marcel TimmerBoard MemberA respected corporate strategist, postal industry expert and marketing specialist, Marcel Timmer is a partner at Logispring, a venture capital firm focused on building businesses for global supply networks. Prior to joining Logispring, Marcel worked for TNT (formerly TPG – www.tnt.com), the 10.1B euro express, logistics, and postal operator based in the Netherlands, where he managed strategy development and played a key role in several large acquisitions and joint ventures in Europe and Asia. Earlier in his career, Marcel worked at KPN, the Dutch telecom and postal operator. In 1996, he was responsible for the successful launch of a new commercial pan-European parcel service for PTT Post. As manager of international parcels, he was responsible for PTT Post’s complete international parcel products portfolio. Following the company’s acquisition of TNT, Marcel was involved in an early stage of the integration of the parcel, express and logistics business units of PTT Post and TNT Benelux. He co-authored the integrated marketing plan and led the team that trained major accounts and field sales staff on the integrated product portfolio. In 1993, Marcel began his career at UPS, where he held several marketing and sales positions in the Benelux region, Germany and the United Kingdom, and eventually served as the marketing supervisor for the Benelux region. Marcel graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a BS degree in Marketing and a master’s degree in Business Economics. |
